OUR WORK
Promotion of Mazatlan in Canada
The Mazatlan Tourism Board has been a long-time client. Every year Veronica coordinates and executes presentation dinners for Canadian travel agents across the country. She presents on behalf of Mazatlan the latest news about the destination, provides effective selling tools to generate sales, delivers key messages in support of the destination’s international public relations strategy and connects at a human level with some of Canada’s best performing travel agents. The progam includes events in Vancouver, Kelowna, Edmonton, Calgary, Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto.

Press Trip of 2024
In 2024, Veronica invited and coordinated a press trip to Mazatlan. The group included writers from La Presse, Vancouver Is Awesome, Dine and Destinations, and Yahoo News, among others. The trip showcased the destinations iconic and new attractions. The trip was highly focused on attracting a new generation of visitors who seek fun, unique experiences, culture, sun and beach, and great cuisine, all in one place.

Huatulco in Canada
Huatulco is a sun and beach destination in the south of Mexico. This smaller destination sees a large number of Canadians visiting each winter season. In the last couple of years their market share has increased. Each year, Veronica coordinates seminars for the representatives of the Huatulco Hotel Association in Canada. The representatives travel to different Canadian cities to talk about their destination.

B2B Presentations in the USA
As part of the Mazatlan marketing program for the year, Veronica coordinates and executes presentation dinners in markets where there are no current direct, non-stop flights to Mazatlan. The objective is to lower the barriers to sell the destination and with an uptake in demand airlines such as Delta, American Airlines or tour operators such as Apple or Sun Country will then open new flights. Veronica meets with a large group of travel agents in each city and she presents insightful information about the destination.

Research & Analysis
Another fascinating aspect of Veronica’s work is to do research for a variety of clients and topics. From media perception of a particular organization or initiative to country conditions or significant events that took place in Latin American countries. The reports are then used to create a public relations strategy or response to a pressing matter or to then carry out interviews to further gather more details about an incident.

Interpretation & Translation
Veronica has been an accredited interpreter and translator for the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada since 2010. Throughout these years her interpretation and translation work has expanded to serve other agencies or divisions:
-
Canada Border Services Agency
-
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada
-
Immigration Lawyers or Consultants
Veronica interprets examinations at Ports of Entry or airports, interviews, refugee hearings, admissibility hearings, detention review hearings, minister’s delegate procedures, and private or legal aid meetings with clients.
